Sailing on the Kathleen D was just a great time. I have very little sailing experience and being at the helm in the middle of the night in 10 to fifteen foot seas was just an awesome experience. Maybe it is not what mono-hullers would call real sailing but I also liked the part about being dry and comfortable while sailing through severe rainy, cold and generally ugly weather.
Excellent company, great food! If going to sea is always this much fun I should have done it long ago! Racking my brain and looking for some less than perfect aspect of the trip I came up with: we ran low on beer and had to drink vodka tonics or Jamesons.
So watch out for whales.

Thanks again for the opportunity to join your delivery trip on the Kathleen D. The trip provided the kind of real world sailing experience you just can't get day sailing around a calm bay. Negotiating with shipping traffic, navigating the ICW, surfing down waves at 16+ knots or finding a spot to anchor at night are the kind of sailing skills you seldom get to practice until you own a boat. Did I forget to mention the twelve foot seas? Two hundred plus miles in twenty four hours was made easy by the knowledge and experience of Ralph, Arlene and yourself. Getting a chance to share the ride with like minded fellow sailors made it fun as well.
